Living responsibly with the natural environment

  • Avoid bringing food into the rooms, as it can attract insects or other wildlife. Our location in the Amazon rainforest requires special care regarding organic waste.
  • Keep doors and windows closed, especially at dusk and at night, to prevent insects from entering.
  • Use water consciously. We are located in a fragile ecosystem where water resources must be protected.
  • Use the trash bins properly to dispose of toilet paper, sanitary pads, and personal hygiene products. Please do not flush them down the toilet.

Personal belongings

  • We recommend keeping jewelry, money, passports, and valuables in the room safe or at the reception desk. Burú Nature Hotel is not responsible for losses occurring outside designated safe areas.

Room Service

  • If you would like room service or private experiences in your eco-room, please request this at least 24 hours in advance so we can efficiently coordinate with our logistics and kitchen teams.

100% Smoke-Free Environment

  • In accordance with Resolution 1956 of 2008 from the Colombian Ministry of Health, it is strictly prohibited to smoke cigarettes, cigars, vapes, or electronic cigarettes in rooms, on terraces, or in common areas.
  • Failure to comply with this rule may result in the immediate termination of the accommodation contract and the charging of cleaning and deodorizing fees to your account.

  • In this case, we recommend booking a triple room, which offers greater comfort.

  • If the accompanying adult is not a parent, notarized authorization signed by both parents is required, accompanied by copies of the corresponding identification documents.

Recommendations for international travelers with minors

  • Authorization to leave the country, duly authenticated by the absent parent or legal guardian.

  • Law 679 of 2001
  • Law 1336 of 2009
  • Resolution 3840 of 2009

As a responsible tourism establishment, we implement a Code of Conduct for the Protection of Children and Adolescents in Travel and Tourism and train our team to identify and report any suspicious situation to the competent authorities.

If you have questions or need assistance with documentation before traveling with minors, please do not hesitate to contact us. We are here to help you enjoy an experience that is safe, harmonious, and respectful of the Amazon and its communities.

In accordance with Statutory Law 1581 of 2012 and related provisions, I hereby authorize—as the data subject—the inclusion of my personal data in a BURU NATURE HOTEL database for processing, which encompasses collection, storage, use, circulation, and final disposition. This processing aims to manage guest and companion registration, internal administration, customer loyalty programs, statistical analysis, reservation and payment management, invoicing, financial and tax accounting, marketing activities, satisfaction surveys, commercial communications (via email, landline, mobile phone, WhatsApp, or physical mail), commercial prospecting, internal advertising, market segmentation, and product/service offerings, as well as the management of records required to fulfill these stated purposes. Likewise, where applicable, I authorize—as the legal representative of any minors included as guests—the inclusion of their data in this database.

Furthermore, in my capacity as the data subject and/or legal representative of minors included as guests, I authorize the inclusion of my personal data (and ours)—including images—in the BURU NATURE HOTEL database and their processing for the aforementioned purposes, including collection, storage, use, dissemination, and final disposition. This exemption applies only when purchasing a package that includes both accommodation and services. The permit must be presented upon arrival.

This tax is not automatically included in the total reservation cost.

At Burú, we believe that true value lies in service provided from the heart. That is why our policy states that tips are not mandatory for our guides or staff members.   However, if you wish to offer a tip as a gesture of gratitude, it will be gratefully received and distributed equitably among everyone who contributed to your experience. In doing so, you not only support the livelihoods of these families but also strengthen the collective spirit of those who inhabit and care for this Amazonian territory—and who share its richness with you.

We know your pet is part of the family, and we understand that your trip wouldn’t be the same without your best friend. That’s why we allow you to bring them along, provided you follow these rules to ensure everything goes perfectly during your stay:

Reminder: Pet reservations must be arranged prior to arrival at the hotel; they cannot be made once you are at the property.

In Colombia, keeping wild or undomesticated animals is prohibited, and our hotel strictly adheres to this regulation. This helps us protect wildlife and ensure the safety of our guests. Therefore, we only allow domestic animals—specifically dogs and cats.

Owners must bring their pet’s up-to-date vaccination record, showing all required vaccinations. Please also provide the pet’s details—such as name, date of birth, breed, color, sex, and any specific health issues—along with the owner’s full contact information. This allows us to verify that vaccinations are current based on the pet’s age.

Muzzles are mandatory for breeds classified as potentially dangerous under Colombia’s current Police Code. Since January 30, 2017, the national government has enforced a new Police Code that maintains order through Law 746 of 2002; this law regulates dog ownership in urban and rural areas, as well as in public spaces and on public transport where dogs are permitted. For this reason, and in accordance with the Code, we reserve the right to refuse entry to large dogs or those classified as potentially dangerous, as well as any mixed breeds or hybrids thereof.

These breeds include: American Staffordshire Terrier, Bullmastiff, Doberman Pinscher, Dogo Argentino, Dogue de Bordeaux, Fila Brasileiro, Neapolitan Mastiff, Pitbull Terrier, American Pitbull Terrier, Presa Canario, Rottweiler, Staffordshire Bull Terrier, and Tosa Inu.
  1. Weight: We accept pets weighing up to 15 kg (30 lbs).

  2. Quantity: One (1) pet per room is permitted.

  3. Fee: A charge of $120,000 applies per night of the stay, including taxes.

  4. Restricted areas for pets: For comfort and safety reasons, pets are not permitted in restricted areas such as wet areas, the pool, the jacuzzi, the restaurant, Casa Yoi, and the wellness center. The only exception is if you need to pass through these areas to reach the nearest exit from your room.

  5. Leash: All pets must be accompanied by an adult, remain under that person’s full control, and be leashed at all times when outside the room.

  6. In the room: 1) Pets must always be accompanied by the guest or an adult registered at the hotel. 2) If any item requires special cleaning or if there is any damage to the room, the guest agrees to inform us immediately. 3) Pets are prohibited from using towels, sheets, beds, blankets, or other bedding. Grooming pets in the rooms or bathing them in the showers is also not permitted. 4) Each pet must bring its own bed or suitable resting mat to ensure everything remains tidy. Pets are not allowed on the beds or furniture.

  7. The use of the establishment’s plates, glasses, and other utensils for the pet’s care or feeding is not permitted.

  8. Behavior policy: Any direct disturbance caused by a pet will result in a warning to the guest, requiring them to take the necessary measures to stop the disturbance immediately.

  9. When the pet relieves itself in the hotel’s green areas or common areas, it is the owner’s responsibility to clean up and provide plastic bags to collect the waste.

  10. Under no circumstances are pets permitted to relieve themselves inside the guest rooms; if this happens accidentally, the owner is responsible for collecting and cleaning up the waste.

  11. If your pet is a cat, you must bring its scratching post and litter box, along with sufficient litter and a scoop for cleaning.

  12. I) Guests traveling with pets assume responsibility for any property damage or personal injury their pet may cause. Furthermore, they agree to hold the hotel, its managers, owners, operators, and staff harmless regarding any liability for such incidents. II) If the pet causes any damage, the guest is responsible for covering the costs, which will be charged to their account. In the event that pet waste is not properly cleaned up inside the room and the hotel is required to perform additional cleaning, an extra fee will be applied. Any failure by the pet owner or caretaker to comply with the rules set forth in this document may result in penalties or the cancellation of the accommodation contract, without a refund of the amount paid or any additional compensation.
