We also understand that unforeseen events may arise that may change your plans. Therefore, our policies address both common and exceptional situations, providing you with flexibility and support at every stage of the reservation process.

By confirming your stay with us, you accept these policies as an integral part of the tourism services contract, in accordance with Decree 2438 of 2010 and the provisions of the Colombian Ministry of Commerce, Industry, and Tourism.

Airport-Hotel-Airport Transfers
We coordinate your transportation to and from Vásquez Cobo International Airport (Leticia) so you can begin your experience with complete peace of mind. Additional Food and Beverage Consumption
Any meal, snack, or beverage not included in the included meal plan (breakfast and dinner at the restaurant) will be charged additionally. Additional experiences offered outside the standard package—such as birdwatching, Amazon navigation, visits to external Indigenous communities, or tours in other reserves—are not included in your rate and must be booked in advance. These activities may incur additional costs and are subject to availability, weather conditions, biosafety regulations, and the policies of our tourism partners. The reservation does not include costs or procedures related to vaccinations, yellow fever certificates, personal health insurance, immigration procedures, or other requirements required by the authorities for entry to Leticia or Colombian territory. Bank charges for international payments
Costs associated with bank transfers, payment gateway fees, or currency conversions are not covered by the hotel. These will be fully assumed by the guest. Penalties for non-compliance or misuse of facilities
Expenses arising from misuse of the facilities, damage to the room or penalties for non-compliance with our internal policies (such as smoking in prohibited areas or bringing in unauthorized food) are not included and will be charged to the guest’s account as stipulated in the terms of stay.

Responsible coexistence with the natural environment

  • Avoid bringing food into the rooms, as it can attract insects or other wildlife. Our location in the Amazon rainforest requires special care with organic waste.
  • Keep doors and windows closed, especially at dusk and at night, to prevent the entry of insects.
  • Use water wisely. We are in a fragile ecosystem where water resources must be protected.
  • Use trash cans properly to dispose of toilet paper, sanitary pads, and personal hygiene products. Please do not flush them down the toilet.

Personal belongings

  • We recommend keeping jewelry, money, passports, and valuables in the safe in your room or at reception. Burú Nature Hotel is not responsible for losses outside of the designated safe areas.

Room Service

  • If you would like room service or private experiences in your eco-room, please request it at least 24 hours in advance so we can organize it efficiently with our logistics and kitchen team.

100% smoke-free space smoke

  • In accordance with Resolution 1956 of 2008 of the Colombian Ministry of Health, it is strictly prohibited to smoke cigarettes, tobacco, vapes, or electronic cigarettes in rooms, on terraces, or in common areas.
  • Failure to comply with this rule may result in the immediate termination of the accommodation contract and the charging of cleaning and deodorization fees, which will be charged to your room. account.

Accepted payment methods

We accept the following national and international credit and debit cards:

  • You can also pay using the electronic payment link, which will be sent to your email or WhatsApp upon request. This service generates an additional charge for the use of the platform, which must be assumed by the guest.

 

Payments at the hotel

  • Payments made directly to the hotel must be made in Colombian pesos (COP), either in cash or by credit/debit card.

We do not accept foreign currency payments at the hotel.

 

Pre-Authorization Policy

  • To guarantee your reservation, Burú Nature Hotel reserves the right to pre-authorize the credit card provided at the time of booking.
  • This pre-authorization is not a charge, but a verification of funds. If a valid card is not provided, the hotel may cancel the reservation without prior notice.

 

Confirmation of Policies

  • By confirming your reservation, you are deemed to have read, understood, and fully accepted the hotel’s policies, including those related to payment, cancellations, pre-authorizations, and declines.

 

Registration and Identity Verification

  • It is mandatory to present an official photo IDupon check-in at the reception desk.
  • This procedure is required by Colombian regulations on hotel security and immigration control (Decree 4000 of 2004 and Resolution 4700 of 2009).

 

Billing

  • If you require an electronic invoice with tax information, please inform us at the time of booking and provide the appropriate tax details before making your payment.
  • Invoices cannot be reissued for payments already completed without the complete information.

At Burú Nature Hotel, we are committed to providing safe, thoughtful, and environmentally friendly experiences. Therefore, we apply special conditions for stays with minors, ensuring both their well-being and the peace of mind of all our guests.

Minimum age allowed

  • Children under 6 years old are not allowed.
    This is due to the characteristics of our tree-top facilities, designed for adults and young people with independent mobility.

Children between 6 and 8 years old

  • One (1) child between six (6) and eight (8) years old is allowed per room, provided they share a bed with their guardians (maximum 2 adults per room).
  • If the guest prefers the child to have their own bed, an additional charge of 50% of the regular adult rate per night will apply.
  • In this case, we recommend booking a triple room, which offers greater comfort.

Required documentation for minors

  • To comply with current Colombian regulations (Law 679 of 2001, Decree 4000 of 2004, and Resolution 3840 of 2009), the following must be presented at the time of check-in:
  • The minor’s identification document, such as a citizen ID card, national identity card, or passport or birth certificate.
  • Document proving kinship or legal custody of the minor by the accompanying adult.
  • If you are not the father or mother, notarial authorization signed by both parents is required, accompanied by a copy of the corresponding identification documents.

Recommendations for international travelers with minors

If only one parent is traveling with the minor or if the companion is not one of the parents, the following must be presented:

  • Authorization to leave the country duly authenticated by the absent parent or legal guardian.
  • This measure seeks to prevent the trafficking and exploitation of minors, in accordance with the guidelines of Colombian Migration and the Children and Adolescents Code (Law 1098 of 2006).

Commitment against the exploitation of minors

Burú Nature Hotel categorically rejects any form of commercial sexual exploitation of children and adolescents, in compliance with:

  • Law 679 of 2001
  • Law 1336 of 2009
  • Resolution 3840 of 2009

As a responsible tourism establishment, we apply a Code of Conduct for the Protection of Children and Adolescents in Travel and Tourism and we train our team to identify and report any suspicious situations to the competent authorities.

At Burú Nature Hotel, we understand that your pet is part of your family, and we want you to have an unforgettable experience in the Colombian Amazon with them. However, to ensure the safety of all our guests, the protection of wildlife, and the balance of the environment, we have established a clear policy for stays with pets.

Pets allowed

  • Only domestic animals are allowed (specifically dogs and cats).
  • Wild or exotic animals are not allowed, in compliance with Law 611 of 2000 and the regulations of the National Police Code (Law 1801 of 2016).

Pet Entry Requirements

  • Prior Authorization Required: Pets must be registered in advance. Applications without prior approval will not be accepted at check-in.
  • Up-to-date vaccination record: The guardian must present a veterinary record with up-to-date mandatory vaccinations, appropriate for the animal’s age and species.
  • Required animal information: name, breed, age, color, sex, specific symptoms, and complete owner information (name, ID, address, and phone number).

Rates and conditions

  • Maximum quantity: one (1) pet per room.
  • Weight limit: Up to 15 kg (approx. 30 lbs).
  • Rules of Coexistence

    • Leash and Mandatory Supervision: Pets must always be supervised and kept on a leash outside the room. li>
    • Restricted Access: Pets are not allowed in the wet areas, restaurant, Casa Yoi, or wellness center, except for essential trips to the exit.
    • Do not use hotel furniture: Pets are not allowed to use hotel beds, towels, sheets, pillows, or tableware. The owner must bring their own bedding, dishes, and other items.
    • Hygiene: The owner must pick up pet waste in the gardens or common areas.
      • In case of accidents inside the room, the person responsible must clean or cover the additional cleaning costs.

    Potentially Dangerous Breeds

    • For breeds classified as potentially dangerous (Law 746 of 2002 and Police Code), the following will be required:
    • Use of a muzzle in common areas.
    • Presentation of the animal registration to the municipal authority (if (applies).
    • The hotel reserves the right to refuse admission as stipulated by current law and for the safety of other guests.

    Legal Responsibility of the Guardian

    • The guardian is fully responsible for any damage to the premises, disturbance to other guests, or injuries caused by their pet.
    • In the event of damage, a direct charge will be made to the guest’s account to cover the repair or special cleaning.

    Burú Nature Hotel reserves the right to refuse admission or expel pets that violate these rules, without the guest being entitled to a refund.

At Burú Nature Hotel, we understand that unforeseen events can arise. Therefore, we offer a clear, fair, and transparent cancellation process, in accordance with current Colombian regulations regarding e-commerce and tourism services (Law 1480 of 2011 – Consumer Statute, Law 300 of 1996, and Decree 2438 of 2010).

Cancellation Request

To request the cancellation of your reservation, please send a formal request through any of the following channels:

Confirmation and response times

 

  • Once we receive your request, we will send a written confirmation within a maximum of 24 business hours.
  • If the request is made on non-working days (holidays or weekends), the response will be sent within a period of 48 to 72 business hours.

Please note that processing may take time depending on the complexity of the case and available resources.

Cancellations of combined plans

 

If you booked additional tourist plans through our partner agency Siempre Colombia, and made the joint payment for accommodation + activities:

  • The full refund is subject to confirmation of charges by the agency.
  • 15 business days.
  • Once the amounts have been verified, the corresponding refund will be issued, deducting cancellation fees from both the hotel and the contracted tourist services.

Cancellation Penalty Policy

  • Cancellation with more than 15 days’ notice:
    100% refund of the amount paid. No penalty.
  • Between 14 and 10 days before arrival:
    The value corresponding to the first night will be charged.
  • Less than 9 days before, or No Show:
    The 100% of the total value will be charged. Reservation.
    No refunds are made in these cases.

Additional Legal Notes

  • In compliance with Article 47 of Law 1480 of 2011, the right of withdrawal for online purchases applies within the first 5 business days following the purchase, only if the reservation has not been consumed or executed.
  • In case of cancellations due to force majeure (natural events, health emergencies or public order), Burú Nature Hotel will allow Change of date or cancellation without charge, subject to a case-by-case evaluation.
In exceptional circumstances of force majeure, such as natural disasters (earthquakes, hurricanes, floods, among others), public health emergencies (such as pandemics or outbreaks of contagious diseases), or security situations that may put guests at risk, such as armed conflicts or social unrest in the vicinity of the hotel, reservation cancellations will be permitted at no additional cost. This policy will apply regardless of how far in advance the reservation was made, ensuring that guests can cancel without penalty if they find themselves in any of these unforeseen circumstances beyond their control.
Guests can change the date of their reservation instead of canceling it, provided there is availability on the requested new dates. Please note that if the change is made more than 10 days prior to the original arrival date, no additional charges will apply. However, if the change is requested less than 10 days in advance or if there is a price difference between the original and new dates, the cost of the reservation may vary. This will depend on availability and current rates.
Reservations made with promotional rates or special discounts may have different conditions than standard rates. In some cases, these reservations are non-refundable, meaning that if you decide to cancel them, you will not be able to receive a refund, regardless of how many days prior to your arrival date. Additionally, these reservations generally do not allow date changes. Therefore, it is important to review the conditions when booking with these rates to ensure you agree with these policies.

In accordance with the provisions of Statutory Law 1581 of 2012 and related provisions, I authorize with my signature, as the owner of my personal data, to be integrated into a BURU NATURE HOTEL database for processing, which will include its collection, storage, use, circulation and final destination. This processing is intended to manage the registration of guests and companions, internal administration, customer loyalty, the preparation of statistics, the management of reservations, collections and payments, invoicing, economic, accounting and tax management, marketing activities, conducting satisfaction surveys, sending commercial communications by email, telephone, mobile phone, WhatsApp or physical correspondence, commercial prospecting, internal advertising, market segmentation and the offer of products and services, as well as the management of the registry necessary for the fulfillment of the indicated purposes. Likewise, if applicable, I authorize, as the legal representative of the minors included as guests, that their data may also be incorporated into this database.

Furthermore, I authorize, in my capacity as the owner and/or legal representative of the minors included as guests, that my personal data (and ours), including images, be incorporated into the HOTEL BURU NATURE database and processed in accordance with the same purposes described, which will include their collection, storage, use, dissemination, and final destination. The images may be published in print and audiovisual media, on social media, and on websites, as well as transmitted and/or transferred nationally and internationally to advertising or publishing service providers.

According to Colombian tax legislation, foreigners and Colombian citizens residing abroad who receive the PIP3, PIP5, PIP6, or PIP10 stamp, tourists with a type V visitor visa (formerly TP-11 and TP-12 visas), a type M migrant visa (formerly TP-7), or a type R (resident) visa are exempt from paying 19% VAT, provided they present the corresponding visa or stamp when checking into their accommodation upon entering the country. This exemption is only valid if a package of accommodation and services is purchased. The permit must be presented upon arrival.

This tax is not automatically included in the total amount of the reservation.

We know your pet is part of your family, and we understand your trip wouldn’t be the same without your best friend. That’s why we allow you to bring them with us, as long as you follow these rules to ensure everything runs smoothly during your stay:

Reminder: Pet reservations must be made before arrival at the hotel. They cannot be made once at the property.

In Colombia, it is prohibited to have wild or feral animals, and at our hotel we strictly adhere to this rule. This way, we contribute to the care of wildlife and guarantee the safety of our guests. Therefore, we only allow domestic animals, especially dogs and cats.

The owner must bring their pet’s updated vaccination record, which must include all required vaccines. This includes the pet’s information, such as name, date of birth, breed, color, sex, and any specific symptoms, as well as the owner’s complete information. This will help us verify that the vaccinations are up to date for the pet’s age.

Muzzles are mandatory for breeds considered potentially dangerous, according to the current Police Code in Colombia. Since January 30, 2017, the national government has enacted the new Police Code, which allows for maintaining order through Law 746 of 2002. This regulates dog ownership in urban and rural areas, in public places, and on public transportation where their presence is permitted. For this reason, and based on this Code, we reserve the right to refuse admission to large breed dogs or those considered potentially dangerous, as well as their crosses or hybrids. These breeds include: American Staffordshire Terrier, Bullmastiff, Doberman Pinscher, Dogo Argentino, Dogue de Bordeaux, Fila Brasileiro, Neapolitan Mastiff, Pit Bull Terrier, American Pit Bull Terrier, Presa Canario, Rottweiler, Staffordshire Bull Terrier, and Tosa Inu.

  1. Weight: We accept pets up to 15 kg (30 lbs).

  2. Quantity: One (1) pet per room will be accepted.

  3. Rate: A fee of $120,000 is charged per night of stay, including taxes.

  4. Leash: All pets must be accompanied by an adult, be under that person’s full control, and always be on a leash when outside the room.

  5. In the Room: 1) Pets must always be accompanied by the guest or a registered adult. 2) If any item requires special cleaning or if there is any damage in the room, the guest agrees to inform us immediately. 3) Pets are not allowed to use towels, sheets, beds, blankets, or bedding. Pets are also not allowed to be brushed in the rooms or bathed in the showers. 4) Each pet must bring its own bed or appropriate sleeping utensils to keep everything tidy. Pets are not allowed on beds or furniture.

  6. The use of plates, glasses, and other utensils from the establishment for the use or care of pets is prohibited.

  7. Behavior Policy: Any direct disturbance caused by a pet will generate a warning to the corresponding guest, so they can take the necessary measures to stop the disturbance immediately.

  8. When the pet relieves itself in the hotel’s green areas or common areas, it is the owner’s responsibility to clean up and dispose of bags. Plastic bags are required to collect droppings.

  9. Under no circumstances are pets allowed to relieve themselves inside the rooms. If this happens accidentally, the owner is responsible for picking up and cleaning up the droppings.

  10. If your pet is a cat, you must bring its scratching post and litter box with enough litter and a scoop to clean it.

  11. I) Guests traveling with pets are responsible for any property damage or personal injury their pet may cause. Furthermore, they agree to hold the hotel, its managers, owners, operators, and collaborators harmless from any such incidents. II) If the pet causes any damage, the guest will be responsible for covering it, and the cost will be charged to their account. If the pet’s physiological needs are not properly cleaned inside the room and the hotel is required to perform additional cleaning, an additional charge will be applied. Any failure to comply with the rules in this document by the pet owner or caretaker may result in penalties or cancellation of the accommodation contract, without refund of the money paid or additional compensation.
